Mount Oglethorpe is located in Pickens County, Georgia. It's considered to be the southernmost peak in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and was once the start of the Appalachian Trail before it was moved to Springer Mountain. The mountain stands at 3,288 feet. On a clear day, the skyline of Atlanta can be seen (over 50 miles away). Most of the towers seen on top of the mountain are FAA equipment.

Thank you to the Rice Family for purchasing the land and establishing the Eagle's Rest Park near the mountain summit for the public to enjoy. It's a quiet and remote spot with great views of the North Georgia mountains. This video was captured on December 19th, 2023 at summit of Mount Oglethorpe and the area that surrounds it.
